On May 15-17th Google developers’ conference I/O 2013 took place. On contrary to expectations, there were no new announcements about the new the Nexus 4 phone or the Nexus 7 tablet, or the new version of Android. Instead, the conference focused mainly on, well, as the name indicates, developers. Google introduced new developers’ tools to make better applications and Google main service developments.

On March the 13th Google announced it’s time for spring cleaning. Since 2011 Google has closed the total to 70 features or services. This time they send to retirement 8 services including Google Reader that has caused the most negative feedback. Google Reader was launched in 2005 and the service was created to make it easy for people to discover and keep tabs on their favourite websites.

The 2012 Google I/O developers’ conference Keynote took place last week. While Apple and Microsoft have already played their cards it was Googles’ time to beat them. Google introduced the latest upgrade of Android called Jelly Bean that brought considerable updates. In addition, a new tablet called Nexus 7, a social streaming device named Nexus Q, the Google Glass and other gadgets and features were introduced.
